The difficult reality is that 20% of Israel’s population is considered poor. Conflict, turmoil, and the constant threat of war takes its toll on a country, and unfortunately, it is usually the everyday people that feel the brunt of it.

In Canada we take for granted that we can easily turn on a tap for our water. This is not the case in Uganda.

Living in Canada, we can’t even begin to grasp what that means. Jobs lost, weddings and graduations cancelled, homes and communities destroyed.

Imagine being a young woman who has survived persecution in Nigeria, facing hatred, abuse, and death threats from family members. In a country where 78% of girls lack primary education and one in three women face gender-based violence and economic inequality, life is especially difficult.

It has been one year since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Since then, Crossroads partners have cared for 110,000+ people by providing over $700,000 worth of food, hygiene, medical supplies, clothing, and much more.
