Growing Hope Through Gardens
Happy Spring! I hope the warm weather has arrived where you are! I don’t know about you, but this past winter felt like it went on forever. Even though it’s officially spring now, the chilly temperatures are still sticking around.
I’m excited for warmer weather because it means it’s time to plant vegetable seeds! Once again, Crossroads Cares—through its First Peoples Voices priority—is coming alongside families and communities to help them in an area they passionately believe in. Gardening! Given the isolation of these communities and the high cost of shipping fresh vegetables, not to mention the overall increase in food prices, growing their own food has become a valuable and empowering solution.

Gardening is a beautiful way to unite families and generations, offering a chance to learn through hands-on experience. The time spent together not only nurtures relationships but strengthens family bonds as knowledge and skills are passed down, creating a lasting sense of legacy. Gardening nurtures the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals and families, promoting holistic growth. Self-determination is fostered through ongoing support as gardening goals are achieved. This not only brings families closer but also provides the nutritious harvest they’ve been eagerly anticipating.
Your ongoing generous financial gifts enable us to provide the soil, tools and seeds required to ensure families and communities in northern Saskatchewan can begin planting. We can’t do this work without you. Thank You!

Please keep First Peoples in prayer this planting season!
