Fall Harvest: Transforming Lives Through Community Gardening
As fall ushers in a season of transformation—with vibrant leaves, crisp air, and gatherings for harvest and Thanksgiving—the residents of Montreal Lake are giving thanks for something truly special: fresh, homegrown vegetables made possible by your generosity.
Earlier this summer, Crossroads Cares/First Peoples Voices supported a family gardening initiative in Montreal Lake, where fifteen families learned to plant seeds in Grow Bags and cultivate their own vegetables. This program not only provided nutritional support but also empowered families, encouraging self-determination and fostering a deeper sense of community. Through this journey, families have gained a new, lasting passion for gardening—a skill that will benefit them for years to come.

In Birch Narrows, Saskatchewan, the local Community Centre launched a garden box program, bringing fresh produce to families who often face high costs for vegetables due to their remote location. Their dedication has paid off, and as the fall harvest concludes, families are now enjoying the fruits of their labor—fresh, nutritious vegetables grown with their own hands.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers and financial support. These families are experiencing real transformation because of your care and generosity.
Sincerely,
