Ukraine Update – May 2023
It’s hard to believe that Russia invaded Ukraine more than a year ago and that rockets are still landing in communities.
Living in Canada, we can’t even begin to grasp what that means. Jobs lost, weddings and graduations cancelled, homes and communities destroyed. Our seminary partner recently commented that “Our cemeteries are growing so fast, the situation in Ukraine is still hard, please pray for us.”
Crossroads Cares has committed partners on the ground, bravely helping the most vulnerable and marginalized in Ukraine.
When all seems lost and at great risk to their lives, they deliver food and water to the confined and elderly. They provide shelter and transportation to those fleeing conflict zones and spend time listening to the broken hearted and praying with them. Orphanages have turned basement bunkers into classrooms, painting the walls to brighten and encourage the children during these difficult times.
Thanks to you, and others with a compassionate giving heart, Crossroads Cares through our partners has provided over $700,000 in relief aid!
Ukraine has been attacked but they are not defeated. As one man stated while he stood beside the remains of his home. “With tears in our hands we will rebuild.” Together, we have done so much, but our work is not done.
