Crossroads Partners with Alberta Bible College to Prepare Students for Ministry

Through Anyone Pray, Crossroads is giving Bible college students real-world ministry experience and helping them become confident people of prayer.

Bible college students spend countless hours studying Scripture, theology and ministry. But some of the most important lessons happen when they step outside the classroom and meet people with real needs.

Through a partnership between Crossroads and Alberta Bible College, students can serve as Prayer Partners with Anyone Pray, a prayer and outreach platform powered by Crossroads. They listen to real people, pray with them and discover what it means to put their faith into action.

And as they bring hope to others through prayer, the students are being impacted too.

Learning to Pray with Confidence

Praying with someone you’ve never met can feel intimidating. Students don’t know who will be on the other end of the conversation or what need they may be facing.

For Alberta Bible College student Lydia Thomas, those moments have become opportunities to grow.

“It’s been so great to learn how to pray on the spot for needs I’d never dealt with before. It’s helped me see how God can pray through me for these people.”

With every conversation, students are learning they don’t need to have every answer. They can listen, trust God and pray.

Every Person Has a Story

For student Emmanuel Sule, serving as a Prayer Partner has also changed the way he listens to people.

“These stories really taught me to be a better listener before responding. Every person has a story, and we don’t always know what someone is carrying inside.”

Through these real conversations, students are developing compassion, empathy and practical ministry skills that can’t be learned from a textbook alone.

The Impact Goes Both Ways

Anyone Pray exists to bring hope to people who reach out for prayer. But as students serve callers, they are discovering that ministry changes them too.

They are learning to pray in the moment, listen before responding and trust God with needs they may never have encountered before.

“I feel like they help me and encourage my faith,” Lydia says.

Each conversation is an opportunity to serve someone else while strengthening the students’ own faith.

Why This Matters

This partnership is about more than providing students with ministry experience. It’s about helping prepare the next generation to confidently serve others wherever God leads them.

Reverend Andrew Hubbard, Field Experience Coordinator at Alberta Bible College, explains:
