From Canada to Jakarta: Royal Anthems’ Song of Thanks Unites Worshippers

When Royal Anthems released its first worship song, “Thank You,” we prayed for revival—from Canada, through worship, to the world. We couldn’t imagine it would travel all the way to Jakarta, Indonesia—and be recorded live in a local church halfway around the world. But that’s exactly what happened when IES Jakarta chose to bring this heartfelt song into their sanctuary.

Led by Pastor Dave and Gigi Kenney, IES Jakarta is a vibrant church community serving both expatriates and Indonesians. Their heart for worship, family, and cross-cultural ministry was reflected powerfully in their recent recording of “Thank You”—a Royal Anthems original written in Canada and now sung in Southeast Asia.

The video, shared on YouTube, captures a moment of sincere worship as young members of IES Jakarta joined together to declare God’s goodness and faithfulness. With voices lifted high and hands raised in gratitude, this recording became more than just a cover—it became a testimony to how worship can travel across oceans and cultures, uniting the global Church in praise.

Royal Anthems, an initiative of Crossroads, exists to support and elevate worship across Canada and beyond. Since its launch, Royal Anthems songs have been accessed by over 1,600 churches through CCLI, equipping worship leaders around the world with fresh, Spirit-led music. Moments like this one in Jakarta remind us why: because a simple song of thanks can spark something eternal.
