Royal Anthems Releases Final Single from The First Gathering, “There Is a Cloud” — A Song of Faith for Canada’s Revival

[Burlington, ON – April 4, 2025] – Canadian worship collective Royal Anthems is releasing its final single from The First Gathering, “There Is a Cloud” on April 4, 2025, completing a year-long series of worship anthems birthed from the collective’s first songwriting camp.

Written by Joel Auge (Crossroads’ Chief Growth Officer), Ryan Wegner, and Wendy Wegner, the song draws from 1 Kings 18 and echoes a national cry for spiritual renewal:
“There is a cloud barely bigger than my hand… I don’t need to understand how You’re gonna make it rain.”

“This song couldn’t come at a more important time,” says Joel Auge. “Through Crossroads’ Strong & Free prayer campaign, we’re seeing Canadians from coast to coast to coast unite in prayer for revival for our nation. ‘There Is a Cloud’ gives voice to that collective faith—that God has done it before, and He’ll do it again. Worship and prayer can shift the atmosphere of Canada.”

The song holds deep personal meaning for Ryan and Wendy Wegner, worship leaders from Hope City Church in Edmonton, Alberta, who co-wrote the song alongside Auge during the inaugural songwriting camp.

“When I came, I honestly wasn’t sure I could write again,” Ryan shares. “I was battling neurological health issues and walked in with nothing but faith. This song came out of that.”

Wendy adds, “After walking through my sister’s cancer journey, I’ve seen what it means to trust God in the unknown. This song is about holding on when things look impossible.”

Produced by Auge and Luis Vargas, and mixed by Brandon Vandendool, “There Is a Cloud” marks the final release in this foundational season—but the story is just beginning.

To date, Royal Anthems has brought together over 50 Canadian worship leaders through the collaborative crafting of worship songs, and 1,475 churches around the world are now singing these anthems of revival.
