Royal Anthems: Three Provinces Unite for New Release: “Capture My Heart”
Royal Anthems Project announces the release of their latest worship single “Capture My Heart,” dropping everywhere January 31st, 2025. The song emerges from an extraordinary collaboration between worship leaders from three Canadian provinces, featuring a remarkable story of faith and divine timing.
The track was co-written by Rex Verzosa (Eglise Sans Frontieres, Montreal, Quebec), Brandon Beckman (Hope Bible Church, Oakville, Ontario), and Jason Muir (Kings Church, Quispamsis, New Brunswick) during Royal Anthems’ inaugural songwriting event. Behind the song lies an inspiring testament to selfless leadership: Verzosa had initially stepped aside from attending the songwriting camp at Crossroads Unity Commons, giving his spot to a younger worship leader from his church. In a remarkable turn of events, he was later invited back when another participant unexpectedly withdrew—a moment that can only be described as divine intervention.
“Every time I pray, I learn how to love Him (God). Every revelation He shows me, I keep falling in love with Him more,” shares Verzosa, who arrived at the writing session with the song’s first verse already penned and serves as the featured vocalist on the recording.
The track showcases the musical talents of Kylie Berry (Background Vocals), Luis Vargas (Keys), Michael Murad (Bass), Brandon Vandendool (Electric Guitar), and Jessie Boland (Drums), with production by Joel Auge and Trevor Robert, and mixing by Brandon Vandendool.
“I feel like God’s pursuit of me has been so beautiful and so significant,” reflects Jason Muir. “This song helps us not forget that He is the pursuer of us, that captures our heart over and over again.” The powerful chorus declaration, “My life is your throne, and here you alone are King,” encapsulates the song’s central theme of complete surrender and divine sovereignty.
Brandon Beckman adds a timely perspective: “So many people are wrapped up in the busyness of life and they’re not living their life with God as their number one pursuit, and God is re-capturing hearts today in Canada.”
The song carries dual messages for congregations: God’s relentless pursuit of His people, and our response of surrender and worship. This thematic depth, combined with its compelling melodic structure, positions “Capture My Heart” as a significant addition to contemporary worship repertoire.
Crossroads’ Royal Anthems continues to foster unity among Canadian worship leaders, creating a collaborative platform for sharing resources and inspiration across denominational lines.
