Turkey/Syria Earthquake Relief Update

On Feb 6th, 2023, people in Turkey and Syria were struck with a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake, destroying buildings and eventually killing over 50,000 people.

One month later, families continue to struggle. Multiple aftershocks have resulted in unstable buildings, and some have collapsed. People are terrified to stay inside structures, even though weather conditions have dropped below zero and snow has fallen. It will take years for these areas to stabilize and rebuild, if they can.

During dark times like these, Crossroads Cares shares the light and love of Jesus by providing care in practical ways.

Thanks to a quick compassionate response from Crossroads donors and viewers, in partnership with other relief organizations, Crossroads Cares has begun helping 10,000 people with humanitarian aid. Families in Turkey and Syria have received emergency food, water, hygiene kits, medical supplies, clothing, blankets, and temporary shelters. However, there is more work to be completed, and more supplies are required.

God cares for people through people, and we are thankful for those who have partnered to respond.

Prayers are needed for the victims of the earthquake, along with the relief workers in Turkey and Syria. If you would like to support Crossroads Cares emergency relief today, call 1-800-265-3100 or visit www.crossroads.ca/relief
