Uganda COVID-19 Response
When we began the year, none of us thought that a few short weeks in, the world would be facing a pandemic that has essentially sent every country into some form of self-isolation or lock down.
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”
Proverbs 19:21
In Canada, we have had to stay home, self-isolate and adjust to the many changes and challenges that have affected our lives. Thankfully, we live in a country where we have the medical resources and ability to abide and survive with the restrictions even though they may be disruptive to what we were used to.
In Uganda, they don’t have the same opportunities that we have here. Medical care is not as easily available, and they can’t just run to the corner and stock up on two weeks of groceries like we can.
“Love your neighbour as yourself”
Matthew 32:29
Thankfully, we can help fulfill the Lord’s purpose and command to help others in need especially when facing the unprecedented time we are in
Our partner has 200 families that are in desperate need of food supplies.
These are people who are elderly, disabled, one parent households and HIV patients.
For $70 one family can receive 20 kg of beans and 25 kg of maize that will help feed them for approximately two months.
Just because we are in self-isolation, it doesn’t mean we should lose our compassion for others.
This is the time when the family of God needs to shine a positive and life transforming message that will show the world Jesus’s love in real and practical ways.
Will you please prayerfully consider helping feed a Ugandan family for $70?
