Bill C-9:
A Defining Moment for Faith Communities in Canada
Bill C-9 includes an amendment to the Criminal Code of Canada that would remove the “good faith” religious belief defence. It has now moved to the Senate for further review.
For ministries like Crossroads, this matters. It shapes the environment in which we share biblical truth across Canada.
What Happens Next
The Senate will now review the bill, with opportunity for study, input, and potential amendments before a final vote. If passed, it will become law.
While this is a significant step in the process, it is not the end. Canadians have spoken, the faith community has been heard, and there is still more ahead.
