Peace
Everyone is in search of peace. Blaise Pascal says “There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made know through Jesus”. When we accept God’s gift of His Son Jesus Christ into our lives, we are on the road to the “peace that passes all understanding” (Philippians 4:6-7).
PEACE STEALERS
- Fear = False Evidence Appearing Real
- Heartache and loss
- Habitual sin
- Problems we cannot solve and circumstances beyond our control
- Overcommitting
.... just to name a few. So the question remains, HOW do we find peace when life hands us lemons – when circumstances are chronically disappointing, when even our lemons are rotten? First of all, peace comes when we receive forgiveness for our sins; then as we turn each of our unsolvable situations into God’s hands and simply trust Him, we begin to understand the scripture, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). God is good and He is faithful.
PRAYER
Dear God, I desire to walk in the peace that Jesus died on the cross for me to have. Help me to identify the “peace stealers” in my life and give me the strength, determination and commitment tomake a change. I release all my fears, concerns, my schedule and my life over to You.
SCRIPTURES OF PROMISE
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6.7).
“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you His peace at all times and in every situation” (2 Thessalonians 3:16).
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27).
