Lighting Technician

This position contributes to content creation through the primary focus on lighting and through the
application of various technical skills to ensure high-quality broadcast production.

• Design and set all productions’ overall lighting/video quality and presentation.
• Execute the lighting and video shading for all productions.
• Ensure all broadcast elements lie within the CRTC-mandated levels.
• Help with identifying problems and implementing solutions.
• Ensure all equipment needed is in place and operational.
• Contributing to the team in regard to pre-production, production and post-production chain.

Specific Job Duties:

• Operate lighting board as well as video for studio cameras as a primary responsibility.
• Set up lighting equipment.
• Grip work, set maintenance, as well as hanging and focus both LED and Incandescent lighting
  fixtures.
• Assist with setup, testing, problem-solving and execution of all needed equipment.
• Additional production assistance may include Video Shader, Audio/video Post-production, Switcher,
  Floor Manager, Studio Camera Operator, Audio Assist, Teleprompter Operator.
• Conduct Research to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of television techniques and new
  technologies.
• Daily communication with the Director of Production.
• Other duties as required.

• College or University diploma/degree in Television Broadcasting
• Minimum of 3 years of Lighting Technician experience
• Working knowledge of both LED and Incandescent fixtures and their respective applications
• General knowledge of the entire production chain.
• Time management skills.
