I missed signing the book when I was at the service, so will share here as I have on social media. I remember 1978 turning on the television and having a profound awakening, excitement that my faith really was alive. I listened to the testimonies on 100 Huntley Street and knew joy. By1979 I joined the team and grew up in my newly ignited faith as I summarized the programs, part of my job in the control room. David was our workplace shepherd and patriarch. I say David, but really, it was both him and Norma-Jean. It was a diverse, welcoming place where flaws and all — and we had some — there was the humility of our TV family father teaching us by his life and vision. I crossed Canada on that very special tour with 100 Huntley Street. I witnessed so much hope among Canadians and back home, the valuable volunteers, sincere, praying and praying for souls. There were so many wonderful memories of the Christian family, lighting the streets and nation with the Gospel. I thought that time with David would become a distant shadow as I left to teach public school. Then three years ago I bumped into David and Norma-Jean at the Sea of Galilee. It had been almost two decades. The memories rushed in. David really was more than a boss and a friend. He was a presence that stayed, and still stays , the Holy Spirit bringing us all together. Thank you, David, for your obedience and persistence to do God’s will, no matter what.
