First thoughts…

There is no way I could have foreseen how God was going to shift and sift me this year. And not only me, but the entire Crossroads organization. As I look back, I can see God’s provision as He brought so many new things into my life.  I have seen God so beautifully unfold His plan for all of us as we face forward amid COVID-19 and see that He has already prepared a new day, a new way, and a new hope.

The news of our former CEO, Lorna Dueck’s retirement was followed quickly by the first challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Suddenly, I found myself in my new role as the Board Liaison to the leadership team at Crossroads and YES TV.  What had initially looked like a smooth journey of relationship building and encouragement, suddenly morphed into what felt like a 24/7 marathon with no end in sight.  We had barely digested the news of a global pandemic when we had to move our entire Crossroads and YES TV staff to remote working.  Within days, our studio, Prayer Centre and every desk sat vacant in our offices on the third floor at 1295 North Service Road in Burlington, Ontario.

GOD CONTINUALLY SHOWED US THE NEW WAY WE WERE TO TRAVEL

As we entered a new day, every member of our team embraced the challenge and went full speed ahead. We were no longer entering your home through television, but our hosts welcomed you into theirs as well. Their home offices were transformed into interview sets. Remotely, prayer calls were answered, programs were produced, and lives were changed. This edition of Reach magazine will highlight some of the amazing new ways that God has provided new hope through media missions.

NEW LEADERSHIP

Crossroads and YES TV Board of Directors are pleased to introduce Kevin Shepherd as our new Chief Executive Officer. See page five to learn about Kevin and his calling to accept the baton of leadership in this new season.

The marathon has been long and challenging, but perseverance has somehow led to new hope, and absolute confidence in God’s plan.
