Crossroads’ CEO Lorna Dueck announces her retirement effective April 30, 2020

“For it is God who works in you to will
and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose.”

Philippians 2:13

Crossroads’ Chief Executive Officer Lorna Dueck has announced her intention to retire effective April 30, 2020.

Since Lorna was appointed CEO of Crossroads in July 2016, her vision for media missions has grown new audiences, eliminated debt, and seen year-over-year flourishing of Crossroads’ ministries.

Throughout her career, Lorna has maintained an unwavering focus on Christian voice in media, and has actively followed God’s calling on her life to grow, develop, and serve two media charities; first Crossroads, then Context Beyond the Headlines (Media Voice Generation), and then overseeing the two entities which merged into one unified charity, Crossroads.

While Lorna’s passion for media evangelism has not diminished, she will focus her energies in new ways, “It has been a thrilling and rewarding journey, but now I am planning to retire. There is a new assignment ahead of me as my husband Vern, and I would like to navigate the journey of his Parkinson’s Disease, together, as a couple.”

Context Beyond the Headlines and 100 Huntley Street will produce special broadcasts in April to honour Lorna and her work in Canadian Christian Media.

With visionary storytellers eager to grow media audiences for Christ, and an amazing team of Prayer Partners answering over 1,700 calls each day, Crossroads stands ready to chart 2020 and beyond into new effectiveness for media evangelism. Although Lorna’s passion, prominent voice, and experience will undoubtedly be missed, our work will continue to be renewed through Crossroads’ strong and vibrant Leadership team.

“The Crossroads’ Board deeply appreciates Lorna’s excellent and faithful service over many years, leading us to a place of stability and flourishing,” said Steve Novoselac, Board Chair of Crossroads. “We know this change for her has not taken the Lord by surprise. We trust that He will continue to hold both her and this ministry in the palm of His hand. Rest assured that the Board, throughout the transition to new ministry leadership, will work in close conjunction with the well-established Leadership team to ensure continued health and strength going forward.”

“It’s been a wonderful Philippians 2:13 journey for me, God fulfilling His good purposes,” said Lorna Dueck. “I sincerely thank you for your part, as our prayer team and donors, for encouraging me so often in that journey.”
