Salsa and Guacamole

SALSA - RESTAURANT STYLE

Ingredients

  • 6 - Tomatoes (very ripe, medium sized - finely diced)
  • 1/2-Onion (medium sized - finely diced)
  • 1/2-Green Pepper (finely diced)
  • 1-Jalapeño Pepper (seeds removed - finely diced - add more if you like it hotter)
  • 3-Garlic Cloves (finely diced)
  • 1/2 Cup Cilantro (fresh, finely chopped)
  • 1-Lime (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2-Lemon (freshly squeezed)
  • Hot Sauce to taste
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Mix the above ingredients in a mixing bowl and refrigerate for 2 hours
  • Feel free to add more or less of the above ingredients to your taste
  • To allow all the flavours to meld together you can refrigerate over night
  • Serve with Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips (in the Health Food section of your favourite grocery store)

GUACOMOLE

Ingredients

  • 6-Avocados (very ripe)
  • 2-Cups of Salsa (see recipe above)
  • Feel free to add more or less Salsa to your taste
  • 1/2 Lime (freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 Lemon (freshly squeezed)
  • 2-Garlic Clove (finely diced)
  • Hot Sauce to taste
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cut Avocados in half and remove pits
  • Remove (with a teaspoon) the Avocado from the skin and put in a mixing bowl
  • Mix Avocadoes with fork to desired texture
  • Add Salsa and mix together and let stand for 1 hour to allow ingredients to meld together
  • Serve with Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips (found in the Health Food section of your favourite grocery store)
