Cedar Planked Salmon

Ingredients
1-Cedar Plank (pre-soak by submerging in water for a minimum of 4 hours)
(Cedar Planks are found in the Fish Dept. of your local Grocery Store - DO NOT use wood from a lumber store as it may be treated with chemicals)
1-Salmon Filet (boneless skinless)
BBQ or Cajun Seasoning
BBQ Sauce

Instructions

  • Season both sides of Salmon with your favourite BBQ or Cajun Seasoning and lightly coat with Olive Oil (always wash your hands after touching raw Salmon)
  • Place Salmon on pre-soaked Cedar Plank
  • Brush on your favourite BBQ Sauce
  • Place Cedar Plank (with Salmon) directly onto the Grill (med-high heat) and close lid to allow the smoke from the Cedar Plank to infuse the Salmon for roughly 20 – 25 minutes depending on your Grill
  • Occasionally, lift the lid briefly (you don’t want too much of the smoke to escape) to check that the Plank isn’t on fire - have a spray bottle filled with water ready to spray on the Plank if it catches on fire and Brush on more BBQ Sauce
  • Remove Cedar Plank with Salmon from the Grill (use oven mitts) and place on a hot plate (it’s very hot coming off the Grill and it will burn your table)
  • Serve right on the Cedar Plank
DO NOT reuse Cedar Plank

ENJOY!
