Crossroads/100 Huntley Street Founder David Mainse Starts 150-Community Tour“Thank You Canada for your history of caring for the future”BURLINGTON, ONTARIO/LLOYDMINSTER, ALBERTA– April 27, 2010. The ministry of Rev. David Mainse has touched the lives of millions of Canadians during almost 50 years on TV in Canada. As founder of Crossroads Christian Communications and CTS (Crossroads Television System), Rev. Mainse is hitting the road during 2010-11 to express his appreciation for those who have faithfully stood with him over the years and personally give a glimpse of the future of Christian media.“I have done many Cross-Canada ministry tours over the years,” says Mainse, “and now I feel God wants me to do it one final time -- this time to connect personally with many beloved friends and share our future vision while thanking them for the strong foundation of faith they’ve helped to build and reinforce across our country. They’ve had a history of caring for the future!” At 73, Mainse still has plenty of energy for a full road schedule, including morning clergy gatherings, afternoon visitations in hospitals and nursing homes, and evening town hall-style events. He also plans to visit a number of First Nations reserves to present each with a library of about 100 books…a project that has been on his heart for a long time. A series of pre-tour meetings over the weekend in Hay River, NWT, reflected an inter-denominational flavour that has marked Mainse’s 50-year ministry. At the invitation of churches in the town, he preached to four different congregations…Roman Catholic, Anglican, Baptist and Pentecostal churches…all on the same Sunday. Mainse has often said of the organizations he founded, “We do not promote a doctrine or denomination but a person…the person of Jesus Christ.” The first leg of the official tour schedule spans April 28th to June 16th, and will primarily cover Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northern Ontario. Complete details are available online. Rev. Mainse is making himself available for radio, newspaper or TV interviews along the way.
