CIDA Overseas Internships - Pending CIDA's Approval

Positions are for a 5 1/2-month overseas experience to Uganda and Zambia. These opportunities are designed for young Canadian professionals, who are seeking a cross-cultural experience to enhance their employability in their chosen field. If you have studied in a field related to the environment and/or agriculture, the health sector, or international development these internships will provide you with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in your professional field of choice.

Eligibility Criteria for CIDA Interns: (more information):

Between the ages of 19 and 30.
A Canadian citizen or eligible to work in Canada.
A graduate from a university or college program.
Unemployed or underemployed (i.e. not working in field of academic training).
No previous paid career-related international work experience.
Not previously participated in programs funded by the Canadian Government's Youth Employment Strategy (YES).

CCCI will provide for the Intern:

Travel to and from international locations.
A basic monthly allowance to cover living costs for both domestic and overseas time.
Travel, medical insurance, and provision for malaria meds.
Pre-departure orientation and training, and re-entry debriefing.
Logistical and program support.

Successful Candidates are responsible for:

Transportation to CCCI's Burlington head office for pre-departure training. Up-to-date passport and Visa for country of placement.
Pre-departure vaccinations. Other incidental costs may be incurred.

Fees and Funding:

Internships are funded by CIDA's International Youth Internship Program (IYIP) and supported and managed by CCCI.
