In fact, our salvation is based on the covenant or "agreement" God made with us. Through Jesus' atonement for our sins, God has made a way to bring us into agreement with Him. Because of this, He can show us favour.
God has promised that if we are in agreement with Him, through believing in Him and His Word, then He will hear and answer us when we pray. Furthermore, when any two believers agree on any one thing and pray according to God's will, He has promised to answer (Matthew 18:19).
Belief brings agreement with God and is manifested by obedience to Him. Unbelief causes disagreement and disobedience. Disagreement results in division, discord and loss of strength. It also causes double-mindedness, a state which prevents our prayers from being answered (James 1:6-8).
The principle of agreement is powerful, not only in the Kingdom of God, but in the secular world as well. It applies to all interpersonal relationships including marriage, family and employment situations.
What Scripture Says
"Now when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place" (Acts 2:1)."So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them... And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness" (Acts 4:24,31).
"Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church" (Acts 12:5).
"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven" (Matt. 18:19).
Agree As You Pray
Especially as you pray, agree with God knowing that He is answering your prayer. Agree with another person concerning your prayer requests. God said that if two are in agreement, it will be done for them. The Kingdom Of God vs. The Realm Of Satan
"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love" (Colossians 1:13).Everything in the Kingdom of God is positive. Everything in the realm of Satan is negative. Take an honest self-inventory. Are you positive or negative? Do you appreciate and build up your family members, friends and fellow workers by being positive and agreeable, or do you drag them down by being negative, critical and disagreeable?
Begin to show praise, appreciation and agreement in all your interpersonal relationships. Do the same with God. He said through the prophet Samuel that He would honour those who honour Him (1 Samuel 2:30b). In like manner, you will begin to see a positive response in the people you associate with, especially those closest to you.
You will find yourself loving your fellowman and, as a result, discover the brightness of God's world.
